Games

Tetroid

Tetroid is a game that was developed by Caleb Eberhardt and myself over a few months for the 2008 Retro Remakes Competition, sponsored by Retro Remakes. The central mechanic of the game is a twist on Samus' blaster, which now fires Tetris blocks that not only hurt enemies but also have a degree of persistence to them. This allows you to create ledges, bridges, and towers to traverse the game world and even solve numerous intricate, Tetris–inspired puzzles!

Despite its (numerous) flaws, it's probably my favorite thing I have ever made. I should probably go back and fix some stuff, but who knows when that'll happen?

Play Tetroid on Windows Or play Tetroid on OS X

Note: The following games only run on Windows. Sorry, but that was one of the limitations of Game Maker when I made them :(

Tralos

Tralos was my first foray into working with Gamemaker. I served as the project lead and artist on a small team, so I basically came up with weird ideas and made a bunch of crappy pixel art! It was pretty fun, but it's definitely terribly unfinished.

Maybe I'll get around to finishing it one day.

In the meantime, why not check it out yourself?

A Blug's Life

This is just some Ludum Dare game I made one weekend. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense but the basic premise is that you're some kind of slug that eats flowers to asexually reproduce. The nutrients from the flowers imbue your offspring with new abilities that help you eat more flowers and make more blugs.

This one's pretty glitchy.

If you don't mind playing a pretty broken tiny game, why not try this one?

Mods/Levels

Port Hidor

Port Hidor is a campaign mission made in the Gears editor—my friends and I made it while we were in school and, while I don't have any of the files around any more (lost them in a hard drive failure), there are still some sweet videos you can check out!

I primarily worked on the opening and closing sections of the level, but did plenty of scripting and touch–up work all over the place. Check out that sick view of the hotel courtyard while you're progressing through the hotel!
